The world belongs to the young. We Baby Boomers were young once, and the world was ours. Then a funny thing happened. We got older. We don’t want to turn loose.
The Boomer generation is revolutionizing aging. My parents, God bless ‘em, couldn’t master a VCR. We Boomers are 78 million strong, and an amazing 65.1 million of us are online! That the single biggest constituency group.
That means a lot of us are out there making our voices heard. And today’s FamilyFirst site is the voice of the 50+ folks who are looking for jobs, romance, and general advice for living nicely.
It’s called Gen Plus.
The site’s author, Wendy, is a 47 year old successful businesswoman who is dedicated to helping out the 50-somethings out there with the issues that arise for them.
One of the things she covers is the concept of being smart financially. Boomer Bill Gates doesn’t have to worry about his retirement, but the rest of us do. We have to invest wisely to have the kind of active retirements we look forward to.
She also talks about the challenges in the job market. We’re not young Turks anymore, we have to approach the job market a bit differently than we did when we were fresh out of school.
